Mercedes-Benz 190 E Exhaust Systems: an Overview
An exhaust system, in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle like the 190 E or otherwise, is made up of several parts.
These days, they usually include a catalytic converter, a muffler and resonator, an exhaust manifold, and a tail pipe, primarily (not to mention an exhaust manifold, a flex pipe, oxygen sensors, and some isolators, gaskets, and clamps). However, as the 190 E was a compact car in the classic Mercedes-Benz Series 201 line of sedans, one that debuted in 1982 and was offered until 1993, it had an emission control system with a closed-loop three-way catalyst (catalytic converter) only optionally from 1985 to 1986; you had to wait until late 1986 at least to get one standard.
Either way, though, an exhaust's job is the same: to remove the toxic byproducts of air and fuel combustion in the engine.
Notice that the Check Engine light's lit on the dash? Maybe your car's fuel economy is getting worse, strange noises are coming from the muffler and/or exhaust pipe, and there's a smell like rotten eggs when the engine runs. In this case, the exhaust might be bad.
To figure out what's going on, inspect the system and replace any parts that the results recommend, and be sure to do it ASAP. Otherwise, to keep it working as best it can, change the resonator and/or muffler every 2 to 4 years at most, and its catalytic converter every 100,000 miles at most. The exhaust replacement schedule on classic cars can differ from more modern cars, though. Be sure to check your owner's manual for details on what to do and when to do it.
Why Buy an Exhaust from Us?
OE Quality
Mercedes-Benz manufactures OEM exhausts for its own cars exclusively. So, what you get will be up to the same high standards that you've come to expect. Aftermarket exhausts, however, may not always be the same quality, and they may not work as well in your 190 E as original ones.
Compatibility Assurance
Naturally, a Mercedes-Benz exhaust will fit and work with a Mercedes-Benz model, whether that's a 190 E or otherwise. Exhausts from aftermarket brands, on the other hand, can end up not-so-great fits.
Warranty Support
No exhaust part that Mercedes-Benz makes should have any defects in materials and workmanship. On the off-chance that you notice one that does, it'll get taken care of. You're unlikely to get this peace of mind from any 190 E exhaust bought on the aftermarket.
