Can I Put a Supercharger in My CL 55 AMG®?
If it's from before 2003, when Mercedes-Benz incorporated a naturally aspirated, 355-horsepower, 5.4-liter V8 engine in the car, sure. Just know that, after 2003, a supercharged variant of the engine came standard, capable of 493 horsepower.
You can add a supercharger either way, though, whether you're doing repairs or modding. Just be sure to make the most of the power bump: swap out the stock air intake for a cold air intake, and exchange the factory engine air filter for a performance air filter. That way, the engine will be able to pull in cooler, denser, better-quality air, and at an optimum balance of filtration and flow. The result: a richer burn, and a few more horses out of it (not to mention more torque).
