Mercedes-Benz Pedals and Kits FAQ
What are the Three Pedals a Mercedes-Benz Can Have?
An accelerator/throttle (gas pedal), a brake (brake pedal), and a clutch (clutch pedal). The throttle speeds your vehicle up when pressed; the brakes slow the vehicle down; and the clutch allows changing gears when accelerating or braking. Many Mercedes-Benz sports cars and performance SUVs with manual transmissions have clutches; they temporarily disengage the engine and transmission, smoothing out the process of shifting.
Can I Customize the Pedals in My Mercedes-Benz?
Yes, with the right kit. You can mod everything from the pedals themselves to their covers, linkages, and pedal position sensors. There are several ways you can go. For one, you can put a non-skid rubber cover on an older, more worn pedal. Secondly, you can swap, say, an automatic gearbox for a manual; for that, you'd need a pedal conversion kit with a linkage. Third, you can put in a custom or billet pedal; they come in finishes and textures galore -- for instance, aluminum -- which can get your ride the looks from your passengers that it deserves.
